A message from our President, Mary McBride:

Hello Comhaltas Members & friends,

As we are almost into Christmas Week we felt we all needed a get together to finish this strange year of COVID-19 at St Philip’s. For those that were not on ZOOM or were working all day on ZOOM, most of you will have got a newsletter from Mary Ann last week. It’s not our big Christmas dinner; we just hope you can come along from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday 19th December. If you could please bring a plate to share and if you’d like to BYO drink. There will be tea and coffee.

Adam Purcell hopes to be there to have a chat about his book, Music & Friendship: The People of Melbourne Comhaltas and to sign them. Some will already have their book from Thursday night so bring them along

Some have already confirmed they are coming for Saturday. If you are coming Saturday, please RSVP by using this link:

We will be observing COVID-safe restrictions. Bring your mask and your dancing shoes! We will have a few steps or some sean-nos dancing, Christmas songs music and a lot of news to catch up with.

Our Comhaltas Melbourne 50th Anniversary year — it’s like the last race, the rush to the end of the year.

The final Christmas ZOOM and book launch with Adam is this coming Thursday night 17th December. Hope you can all come along on Saturday afternoon.

St Philips Anglican Church, 146-150 Hoddle St. (beside Collingwood Town Hall).  The car park is on the left into Station Street at the back of the Town Hall. Turn left into Eddy St. (through the police station car park) into the council carpark  at the back of Town Hall. From there you will be at the back of St Philips, but will have to go through the little park to enter St. Philip’s by the front door.

Collingwood train station is at the back of the Town Hall.

So ’til Thursday or Saturday or both, looking forward to seeing you all.

Mary McBride
